Tempered glass
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass. It's actually a prestressed glass, created by chemical and physical methods to increase its strength. These methods create compressive stress on the glass surface, which is first counteracted when the glass is subjected to stress, thus improving its load-bearing capacity and resistance to wind pressure, temperature changes, and impact. Note the difference between tempered glass and fiberglass.

Product Parameters

Tempered glass is classified by shape into flat tempered glass and curved tempered glass.

Product Characteristics

Safety

When broken by external force, the glass shatters into small, blunt-angled fragments resembling a honeycomb, minimizing the risk of serious injury.

High Strength

Tempered glass of the same thickness has 3-5 times the impact resistance and bending strength of ordinary glass.

Thermal Stability

Tempered glass exhibits excellent thermal stability, withstanding temperature differences three times greater than ordinary glass, up to 300℃.

Uncuttable

Tempered glass cannot be cut, drilled, or reshaped.

Production Process

Cutting: Cutting the raw glass sheet into the required shape.

Edging: Grinding the four edges with an edging machine to prevent breakage during tempering and ensure an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Drilling: Drilling holes if necessary using a drilling machine.

Cleaning: Cleaning the glass with a cleaning machine.

Tempering: Placing the glass in a tempering furnace and heating it to approximately 700 degrees Celsius, then using a fan to instantly cool the glass to approximately 40 degrees Celsius.

Through these production processes, ordinary glass is transformed into tempered glass.
